Student who threatened high school campus commits suicide by stepping in front of a train

Student at Moorpark (Calif.) High School was found dead while police were searching the campus in response to his threats of violence.

A 16-year-old student whose threat of violence at a high school in Moorpark, Calif., led to a lockdown and campus evacuation later committed suicide by stepping in front of an train. The Los Angeles Times reports that Moorpark High School was locked down Thursday morning after someone found a threatening note the student had left on campus. About 70 deputies raced to the campus, which was immediately locked down, and a campus search began. About 40 minutes later deputies learned a person had been hit by an Amtrak train not far from the school.
