District seeks provisional accreditation to prevent students from transfering out of the district.

The Kansas City School District is suing Missouri education officials to prevent the breakup of the unaccredited school system and to prevent the possible exodus of students that could be allowed next year under state law. The Kansas City Star reports that the district is seeking an injunction that would give Kansas City provisional accreditation and stop the transfer of students to neighboring school systems at the cost of the district.
