Train noise near New York City elementary has parents concerned

Trains going past P.S. 85 in Queens generate excessive noise, parents complain

Parents of students at Public School 85 in the Queens borough of New York City are calling on school and transit officials to do something to reduce the excessive noise from trains that run past the school all day. The New York Times reports that the decibel levels when the trains rattle by is many times higher than the recommended level of background classroom noise.
