Denver district may reclaim title of Colorado's largest

Oct. 15, 2013
Preliminary enrollment numbers indicate Denver may have surpassed Jefferson County in 2013-14 enrollment numbers.

The Denver school district may reclaim its spot as the largest school district in Colorado for the first time in about four decades, according to projections. The Denver Post says preliminary numbers from the district suggest that enrollment has increased to more than 88,200 students for 2013-14. The increase in enrollment of nearly 4,000 students over the past year has Denver poised to surpass the Jefferson County district for the first time since the 1970s.
