Some busing cuts restored in Lake County (Fla.) district

Hundreds of children who attend schools in the Lake County (Fla.) district will be getting their bus rides back soon. The Orlando Sentinel says the school board has restored busing to more than 450 students from several schools who face dangerous walking routes to classes. In June, the board cut busing for 4,300 students living within two miles of campus. Since school began, however, the board has slowly reversed the cuts. Including Monday's move, it has added rides for more than 900 students who were either legally entitled to buses or would have had to cross six-lane highways or roads with 55-miles-an-hour speed limits.
