Video: 286 schools receive 2013 Blue Ribbon Schools award

U.S. Department of Education recognizes schools for overall excellence or progress in improving academic achievement.

Video from the U.S. Department of Education: U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has announced that 286 schools have been named 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools. The designation is based on the schools' overall academic excellence or their progress in improving student academic achievement, the department says.
