Audit finds fault in St. Louis district

Sept. 4, 2013
Several issues require immediate attention, state auditor says

A state of Missouri audit of St. Louis Public Schools takes the district to task on a number of issues, from promoting children to the next grade level even if they are a year or more behind in reading, to failing to determine whether hundreds of educational programs in the district are working. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the audit gives the district a “fair” rating, and uncovers findings that the report says require “immediate attention.”
