Students tend to gardens at 46 Detroit schools

Student apprentices have worked over the summer to tend gardens planted at 46 Detroit schools as part of the Detroit Garden Collaborative. The Detroit News reports that the collaborative is part of an extensive Farm-to-School initiative to teach students about nutrition, composting and sustainability, while bringing more fruits and vegetables into the schools.
