Pam Stewart replaces Tony Bennett, who quit after he was accused of improprieties during stint in Indiana

Florida's State Board of Education has appointed Pam Stewart as a temporary replacement for Education Commissioner Tony Bennett, who resigned amid a scandal over charter school grade fixing in Indiana. The Orlando Sentinel says Stewart, who is chancellor of the education system and has been with the department for several years, will be the eighth state education commissioner in six years. Bennett's tenure lasted just six months.
