San Diego teacher pleads guilty to bringing gun to school

June 13, 2013
Middle school teacher was arrested earlier this year after police found him carrying a semi-automatic pistol.

A middle school teacher accused of bringing a gun onto the San Diego campus where he worked has pleaded guilty to carrying a loaded firearm in a school zone. The San Diego Union-Tribune says Ned Carter Walker, 41, who taught at Farb Middle, was arrested in February as district police were looking into reports that he was keeping ammunition at school. Officers frisked him and found a .38-caliber semi-automatic pistol with a seven-round magazine. Walker has been on leave since his arrest; with a felony conviction, he is no longer eligible to work as a teacher in California.
