2 Jewish schools in Baltimore will close

Two private Jewish schools in Baltimore will close at the end of the school year after plans to combine the schools fell apart. The Baltimore Sun says the Day School at Baltimore Hebrew, a K-8 school, and The Shoshana S. Cardin School, a high school, had planned to merge and become the Independent Jewish Academy of Baltimore. Gerri Chizeck, head of the Day School, says the decision to close the schools came after struggles with enrollment and finances.
