Architects respond to schools seeking better security

Since the Sandy Hook tragedy, school officials have asked architects about ways to enhance campus safety.

Heightened concern over campus safety has prompted school district administrators to place a greater focus on security as they plan new facilities. MLive.com interviews architect Steve Hoekzema of TowerPinkster, who says that in the days following the Sandy Hook school shooting in December, at least five school leaders from Southwest Michigan sought him out to ask about ways to make their schools safer.
