Jefferson Parish (La.) school board finalizes security plan

District will spend $1.6 million to establish a single point of entry at all schools.

The Jefferson Parish (La.) School Board has finalized the district's first comprehensive security plan. The New Orleans Times-Picayune says the board has approved spending $1.6 million to establish a single point of entry in all district schools by this fall. Last month, the board voted to spend nearly $6 million to install security cameras in all schools by 2015.
