A New York City high school named in honor of a slain teacher is expected to be closed. The New York Times looks in depth at the recent struggles of the Jonathan Levin High School for Media and Communications in the Bronx. The school was created in the building where Levin, son of retired Time Warner chairman Gerald Levin, taught. The teacher was killed in 1997 by one of his former students. The school opened five years later with promise, but now the quality of education at the school has declined. harder to come by.
