University of Colorado Boulder plans upgrades to football facilities

$170 million proposal will expand athletic center, create new academic center, indoor practice facility

University of Colorado Boulder has unveiled a $170 million proposal to upgrade the university's football facilities. The school plans to raise $50 million in private support to execute the project. The first element will consist of a new academic center that to help student-athletes succeed in the classroom. The study areas will be built in a new complex beneath the east stands, away from the distractions of the campus athletic center. The second element will significantly expand the athletic center to consolidate football operations, bring coaches and student-athletes from a number of sports together, and provide more physical resources for all in one unified space. The third element of the plan will establish a permanent indoor practice facility.
