Vote to decide if 2 Iowa districts will merge

Feb. 4, 2013
Sumner and Fredericksburg would combine if a majority of voters in each district approve.

Voters will decide this week whether two Iowa school districts will merge. If the measure is approved by a simple majority in each district, the Sumner and Fredericksburg districts will become one school district as of July 1, 2014, The Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier says. The districts now share academic programs, buildings, teachers and extracurricular activities. Sumner and Fredericksburg students share a middle school and a high school but maintain separate elementary schools.
