From KPLC-TV: The Cameron Parish (La.) School District has broken ground on a new building for Johnson Bayou High School in Cameron. Classes have been housed in temporary space for several years--the school sustained significant damage from Hurricane Rita in 2005, but after repairs and renovations were made, Hurricane Ike wiped out the school building in 2008. The new school will be an elevated building and will have a stronger structure. The district expects the new school to be completed in fall 2014.
