Organizers hope to bring children's museum to Newtown, Conn.

Before last month's massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., plans for a children's museum in the town were being discussed. Since the tragedy, the plan has become more ambitious, The Associated Press says. Museums around the country have been collecting donations and organizers now are looking to renovate a 52,000-square-foot building to house the museum, to be called EverWonder Children's Museum. A capital campaign is beginning, with hopes of raising $10 million, up from an earlier goal of $4 million. Organizers says the museum will include a memorial to those who died in the school shooting, including Sandy Hook Principal Dawn Hochsprung, who hasd expressed strong support for the museum.
