The Broward County (Fla.) School Board has put the brakes on a plan to remove 1,180 aging portable classrooms from campuses. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel says board members concluded that getting rid of the portables would force the district to carry out major school boundary shifts that would be disruptive for students.
