Broward County (Fla.) board halts plan to get rid of aging portables

Board decides that removing portable classrooms would force the district to redraw attendance boundaries.

The Broward County (Fla.) School Board has put the brakes on a plan to remove 1,180 aging portable classrooms from campuses. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel says board members concluded that getting rid of the portables would force the district to carry out major school boundary shifts that would be disruptive for students.
