St. John the Baptist and Immaculate Heart of Mary school will shut down at the end of the 2013-14 year.

Two Catholic schools in south St. Louis will close after this academic year. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says that leaders of nine parishes on the south side have agreed to St. John the Baptist and Immaculate Heart of Mary schools; all seven other schools involved in the discussions will remain open at least through the 2014-15 school year.
