Twenty-seven schools in the French-language school system in Montreal, Quebec, are in an “excessive” state of decay, according to school board documents obtained by CBC/Radio-Canada. The CBC also reports that another 55 schools in the Commission Scolaire de Montreal are considered to be in a “very advanced” state of decay. Last month, the district had to relocate 260 elementary students to a campus 15 kilometers away while their school building undergoes decontamination.
