Audit says school construction funding in Colorado isn't going to those who need it most

Report to state lawmakers says most of the schools deemed to be in the worst condition have not received state construction grants.

Auditors say Colorado has spent more than $1 billion in school construction projects, but the money isn't necessarily going to the projects with the greatest needs. TheDenverChannel.com reports that since 2009. Only a quarter of 70 schools identified as being in the worst condition have received funding for construction.
