With merger on horizon, 2 Bloomfield Hills, Mich., high schools hold their final commencements

June 10, 2013
Lahser and Andover high schools will be consolidated into Bloomfield Hills High School.

The final graduating classes at two Bloomfield Hills, Mich., high schools have received their diplomas, and students next year will attend the newly created Bloomfield Hills High School. The Bloomfield-Bloomfield Hills Patch says about 200 members of the class of 2013 at Lahser High School took time to honor their legacy as the last graduates in the school's 45-year history. At Andover High, more than 200 members of the 78th — and final — graduating class said goodbye to the school. Lahser and Andover are merging as part of a consolidation and construction plan backed by voters May 2012. The school facility will be built on the Andover site and is projected to be completed in 2015.
