Bomb threat forces evacuation of some buildings at Harvard

Four buildings were cleared as a precaution, but search turned up no explosives

A bomb scare at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., forced evacuation of four campus buildings, but a search uncovered no explosives. The Boston Globe reports that the evacuation was triggered by an e-mail warning that explosives had been planted in four buildings--the Science Center, Thayer Hall, a freshman residence, and Sever and Emerson halls, two buildings that contain lecture halls. By Monday afternoon, authorities had given the all-clear for all four buildings. The threat forced postponement of some final exams; officials were working to reschedule tests in affected courses.
