Motorcyclist dies in crash with school bus in Nevada
A motorcyclist was killed Monday in a crash with a school bus on the north edge of Sparks, Nev.
KTVN-TV reports that the school bus was turning left when the motorcyclist hit it. He died at the scene. The driver of the school bus wasn't hurt, and there were no children on board.
Deputies say the motorcyclist was an elderly man; he has not been identified.
The bus driver had finished dropping off children and was heading to finish the route when the crash happened.
The Washoe County School District released this statement:
"The Washoe County School District is cooperating with the investigation into today’s accident involving a school bus and a motorcyclist.
Per protocol, the bus driver has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of this investigation."
