Mississippi middle school student dies after suffering asthma attack

A 12-year-old boy has died after having an asthma attack at a middle school in Mississippi.

WDAM-TV reports that the boy, who identity was not disclosed, was a sixth-grade student at Perry Central Middle School in New Augusta, Miss.

Perry County School District Superintendent Gregory Dearman says the student had an asthma attack Wednesday in the school's gym.

The circumstances surrounding the boy’s asthma attack are unclear.
