A 53-year-old worker died Saturday morning at Yale University in New Haven, Conn., after falling 60 feet at the university's central power plant.

The Yale Daily News reports the victim, whose name has not been disclosed, was an employee of International Chimney and as working in a non-active chimney stack as part of an upgrade of the power plant

New Haven firefighters were dispatched to the accident and carried out a “complicated rescue" of the man, officials say. He was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is conducting an investigation of the death and is being assisted by Yale Public Safety and the Yale Police Department..
