Principal in Fairfax County (Va.) district accused of embezzling school funds

Principal's former finance aide also faces charges

A middle school principal in Fairfax County, Va., and her former finance aide have been charged with embezzlement and money laundering. The Washington Post reports that Sonya Swansbrough, 46, principal at Poe Middle School, and Bethany Speed, 38, an administrative assistant at J.E.B. Stuart High School, were allegedly involved in falsifying time sheets and stealing more than $100,000.
