Jacob Hall, 6NBC News reports that Jacob Hall, a first grade student at Townville Elementary School in Townville, S.C., lost 75 percent of his blood when a bullet wound pierced his femoral artery in his thigh.
He was on life support for several days before he was pronounced dead on Saturday.
Jacob was critically wounded Wednesday on the playground of his school when a gunman opened fire, authorities say. The alleged shooter, a 14-year-old boy, was taken into custody at the school.
Another boy and a teacher were also injured in the attack. They were treated at an area hospital and released.
Before the school shooting, the 14-year-old allegedly shot his father to death at their home a miles away. The boy has been charged as a juvenile with murder and attempted murder.
