A shooter is dead and two people have been critically injured following an attack Thursday at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
A person opened fire at about 10:49 a.m. in Constant Hall, the university said in an emergency alert. The building houses the Strome College of Business, according to the university.
The identities of the two injured people have not been disclosed. They were taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
At 11:30 a.m., the university said the shooter had been “neutralized" and there was no longer a threat on campus.
The university did not provide further details, and the gunman's identity has not been disclosed.
Classes have canceled on the main campus for the remainder of the day.
