Lawyers suing the Oxford (Mich.) district over the deadly shooting last month at Oxford High School have accused district officials of withholding evidence and have asked a judge to intervene.
However, attorneys for the district say the allegation is false and the district is fully cooperating with the investigation into the Nov. 30 shooting that left four students dead.
U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg has ordered the district to preserve all electronic evidence that relates to the lawsuit, reports The Detroit Free Press. But his order did not address the allegation that the district was withholding information.
A family of a student wounded in the shooting has sued the district and argues that the district did not take steps to prevent the shooting
One piece of evidence that the family's lawyers say has gone missing is a LinkedIn profile of one defendant, and a list of administrators that had been on the district website. But lawyers for the school system say the profile in question belonged to a person who hasn't worked for the Oxford district in more than a year.
Oxford administrators have said they will hire a third party to review school officials' actions related to the shooting and are calling for a review of the district's "entire system."
