Several students at Blue Springs High School in Blue Springs, Mo., are allegedly being targeted by a 'hit list'.

The list contains names and bounties for over two dozen freshmen students, reports Fox 4 news

One of the versions of the list circulating on social media lists the names of the targeted students; the reason that student has been targeted (e.g., obnoxiously loud, cheater, closeted gay) and the amount of money associated with beating them up.

The Blue Springs district acknowledged the problem and sent the following statement:

“Over the weekend, we were made aware of the lists circulating on social media. Our administrative staff, the Department of Public Safety, and the Blue Springs Police Department are working together on the investigation. At this time, the social media posts are found not to be credible.”

Parents have reported the list to Blue Springs Police. Police said they have received five phone calls from concerned parents and have taken two police reports for threats in connection to the hit list.
