A 13-year-old girl in Tonkawa, Okla., is in a juvenile detention center after she allegedly plotted to shoot and kill former classmates.
KWTV-TV reports that police began investigating on Sunday, when a student received a threatening text message.
Authorities obtained a search warrant for the girl's home and found firearms, weapons, ammunition and a manifesto written by the girl. Police say the girl allegedly planned to kill students at Tonkawa High School, where she used to attend. More recently, the girl has been homeschooled, investigators say.
The girl has been charged with threats to perform acts of violence. Because she is a juvenile, her name has not been disclosed. Police believe that she was acting alone.
Tonkawa is a city of about 3,200 and is 90 miles north of Oklahoma City.
