Vandals at The New School in New York City have defaced several residence hall room doors with swastikas.
CBS New York reports the swastikas were found around 4:45 p.m. Saturday scrawled in black marker on four walls of Kerrey Hall, a New School student housing facility on Fifth Avenue near 13th Street in Manhattan.
The woman who posted a picture of the graffiti on Twitter says she and two other Jewish students live in one of the rooms that was targeted.
The school has denounced the vandalism and will be increasing security. New School President David E. Van Zandt has released a letter vowing that acts of hatred will not be tolerated.
"Any attempt to discriminate, instill fear in or intimidate our students will result in serious and swift consequences both form NYPD and the New School," Van Zandt wrote.
