14 middle school students in Charlotte, N.C., sustain minor injuries in bus crash

Bus left the road and rolled down a hill before crashing into a house.

A bus driver and 14 students in Charlotte, N.C., sustained injuries Tuesday morning after the bus they were on left the road, went down a hill and crashed into a house.

None of the injuries is considered life-threatening, officials say.

WSOC-TV reports that the bus was transporting 23 students to Randolph Middle School when it was unable to stay on the road as it curved. The vehicle rolled down an embankment and hit a house. No one in the house was injured.

The driver and students were taken to area hospitals for treatment. A replacement bus was dispatched to retrieve the uninjured students and take them to school.
