The Los Angeles Unified School District is the second-largest public school system in the United States, but it is just one of more than 75 districts in Los Angeles County.

In 2019-20, districts in L.A. County had a total of 1,416,522 students, according to the California Department of Education, and more than 800,000 are enrolled in districts other than Los Angeles Unified.
