The number of public high school graduates rose slightly in 2018-19, according to data from the National Education Association.
The NEA's Rankings of the States 2019 and Estimates of School Statistics 2020 reports that 3,359,289 students graduated from public high schools in 2018-19 compared with 3,333,546 students in 2017-18—an increase of 0.77%.
More than one in eight of the graduates were from California, the most populous state. It accounted for 423,457 graduates.
