States with highest ratio of students to teachers, 2017

Nevada public schools have one teacher for every 25.86 teachers, according to statistics from the NEA.

Nevada has more students per teacher than any other state, the National Education Association says.

In its annual report, "Rankings of the States 2017 and Estimates of School Statistics 2018," the NEA says that in 2017, Nevada public schools had one teacher for every 25.86 students, a slight increase over 2016, when it had 25.67 students per teacher.

Nationwide, NEA statistics show that there were 15.96 students enrolled for every public school teacher, a 0.4 percent decrease over the average student-teacher ratio in 2016 of 16.03 per teacher.
