States with largest percentage increases in per-pupil expenditures

Most states saw per-pupil expenditures drop from fiscal 2010 to 2011, but some states increased spending per student.

Per-pupil expenditures (in inflation-adjusted 2011 dollars) for public elementary and secondary schools dropped 1.5 percent from fiscal 2010 to fiscal 2011. Here are the 10 states that had the largest one-year percentage increases in per-pupil expenditures, according to a National Center for Education Statistics report, "Revenues and Expenditures for Public Elementary and Secondary School Districts: School Year 2010–11 (Fiscal Year 2011)"
