States whose per-pupil funding to school districts has increased the most since the 2008 recession
Since the 2008 recession, many states have struggled to provide school districts with the funding that was allocated before the economy took a nosedive.
The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities says that in 2016-17, 23 of 47 states were providing less general aid per student than they were in 2007-08. But that means 24 of 47 states have seen an increase in state education funding per student over those nine years.
