University of Arkansas in Fayetteville breaks ground on $38 million Fine Arts Center renovation

The project will upgrade multiple spaces throughout the building, including the library, common area and more.

The Fine Arts Center at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, is undergoing a $38 million renovation. 

The restoration of the Fine Arts Center will provide classroom spaces to meet a wide range of undergraduate and graduate student needs, reports the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.  It'll also enable the university to expand some of its community-facing programs, such as art education for youth.

The center's library space will also be renovated to provide more open spaces and natural lighting. 

The space between University Theatre and Concert Hall being will be reimagined as a public lobby and commons area.

A donation from the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation is being used for the renovation.

The project will begin January 2023 and should be complete in fall 2024.

Deborah Berke Partners and Miller Boskus Lack are the architects.
