Vacant and outdated classrooms at D.A. Smith Middle School in Ozark, Ala., will be renovated into career tech classrooms.
The renovations will enable students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade to explore subjects that pique their interests, reports WTVY.
“We want to expose kids to career opportunities sooner,” said Reeivice Girtman, superintendent of the Ozark City (Ala.) district.
The available subject areas include criminal justice, nursing, masonry, teaching, culinary arts and digital media.
Renovations are expected to be completed by the beginning of next school year.
