The Thompson (Colo.) district is converting Conrad Ball Middle School in Loveland to a preK-8 campus.
The project will consolidate students from the middle school and Mary Blair Elementary and Monroe Elementary, reports The Loveland Reporter-Herald.
Conrad Ball, Monroe and Mary Blair all faced declining enrollment, prompting the consolidation. The district will sell Monroe Elementary, and convert Mary Blair Elementary into a community center
The project is expected to cost about $18 million. Funds for the project will come from school bonds and a $5 million Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) Grant from the state of Colorado.
The renovated school is set to open in 2023.
