The Pittsburg (Kan.) district is renovating the 101-year-old Pittsburg Community Middle School building.
The project will upgrade all four floors of the building. Existing classrooms will be remodeled, a science laboratory added, and an auditorium renovated. The school will install an elevator to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, reports The Joplin Globe.
The project will be funded by a $16.5 million bond proposal that voters approved in January.
Corner Greer and Associates Inc. is the architect.
The project is set to be complete in August 2023.
