New Orleans charter high school is expanding

Feb. 15, 2022
Warren Easton Charter High School has acquired a former business college facility and will open a ninth-grade academy across the street from its existing campus.

Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans is renovating the site of a shuttered business school to house a ninth-grade academy.

The long-abandoned building, which had been the home of Meadows-Draughon Business College, is across the street from the Easton campus, reports NOLA.com

The five-story, 22,534-square-foot facility will accommodate about 350 students, reports Biz New Orleans

Grades 10, 11 and 12 will remain at the campus across the street.

The expansion will enable the school to grow its student population by 40%, adding 400 students over the next few years, officials said.

Manning Architects is the architect and McDonnel Group is the construction company.
