The Portland (Maine) school board has approved $14.6 million in renovations at Presumpscot Elementary School, one of four elementary campuses the district is upgrading this summer.
Reiche, Longfellow and Lyseth elementary schools also are being renovated this summer, reports the Portland Press Herald.
The Presumpscot Elementary School project calls for replacing modular classrooms with a new wing, adding a cafeteria and space for music and art. Other renovations include two additions a front administrative area and a large addition to the back of the school with as well as interior renovations.
The projects are part of a $64 million Buildings For Our Future initiative approved by voters in 2017.
