About $28 million in building upgrades are in store for the Tipton (Ind.) district's three schools.
The most significant upgrades will take place at the high school, the Kokomo Tribune reports. The high school, which was built in 1964, is the oldest building of the three schools on campus.
The high school improvements will modernize science classrooms, convert main floor classrooms into a media center, convert the existing media center into innovation labs, and install new flooring.
Workers will install artificial turf and LED lighting at the football field and reconfigure the tennis courts.
The elementary school will be renovated and crews will expand the cafeteria and media center. Modernized science labs and improved locker rooms are among the upgrades slated for the middle school.
All three buildings will have their main entrances enhanced.
