Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) has held a ribbon-cuting ceremony to mark the opening of its $117.4 million Health Sciences Complex.

The university says the 172,495-square-foot complex features state-of-the-art technology, simulation teaching and research laboratories.

The three-story building includes office space, modernized instructional areas, and convertible multipurpose classrooms.

Students of SIUE’s School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing began classes in the facility at start of the fall 2025 semester. Both schools reported a significant enrollment increase, a direct reflection of the impact a new facility can have.

“These state-of-the-art classrooms prepare student practitioners to walk confidently into their next assignment as healthcare professionals,” said SIUE Chancellor James T. Minor.

The project's joint venture design-build team is Clayco and Poettker,  in collaboration with Lamar Johnson Collaborative and Christner.
