1,200-student elementary in Le Mars (Iowa) district will replace three aging campuses

The Le Mars (Iowa) district is building a 1,200-student elementary school to replace three aging campuses.

The Le Mars Sentinel reports that the $73.6 million project is scheduled to open in summer 2028. It will replace Clark, Franklin and Kluckhorn elementary schools and serve students in prekindergarten through fifth grade.

The new school will have flexible learning spaces, a library, art and music rooms, multiple gymnasiums, and outdoor play areas. ISG, the project architect, says the building has been designed using mass timber and a geothermal HVAC system.

The construction manager is Hausman.
