The Osseo Area (Minnesota) School District has broken ground on a $27 million community learning center in Brooklyn Park.

CCX Media reports that the facility is being constructed on the site of the former Crest View Elementary School. The district envisions the campus as a “hub” for lifelong learning and will house a range of services there: preschool and infant programs; cultural immersion programs; classes for adult learners and career development; and support services for the Brooklyn Park community.

“This is just going to be a landmark center for learning,” said Tanya Prince, Osseo School Board Chair. “From our youngest learners all the way up to our oldest learners as part of the community.”

Crest View Elementary closed in June 2025, and the district tore down the building a few months later.

The district expects to hold a grand opening for the newly built learning center in 2027.
